Becky Lorenz is currently teaching welding at Frederick Community College and is the founder of Aerospace Welding Services, LLC. based in Mount Airy, MD. Prior to that, Becky worked as a machinist and welder for the University of Maryland Physics Machine Shop in College Park, MD. She has taught GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) at Northern Virginia Community College and has trained at Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA in aerospace welding (GTAW).
Becky holds AWS Certifications for Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Titanium in D17.1; and D1.1 Structural Steel Unlimited Thickness, 4G. She has a 2 year Certificate in Advanced Welding Technology from Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas, VA, and 2 years of Commercial Art at Pikes Peak Community College, Colorado Springs, CO. She is current Chairman of the D.C. Section of the American Welding Society, and has served on the Executive Committee for 25 years.
